Manalapan Township  is located in Western Monmouth County, NJ.  The suburban setting  is appealing to new residents, giving a sense of country living. The Battle of Monmouth from the Revolutionary War was fought on land that is now part of Manalapan and Freehold Township. Commuter bus service to NYC is available on the Route 9 corridor. Route 9 gives access to the Garden State Parkway while Route 33 goes east towards the Jersey Shore and west towards the NJ Turnpike, Princeton and Trenton. 

The population in Manalapan according to the 2010 Census was 38,872. The median income for a household in the township was $102,882.

Elementary and middle school age children will attend Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools. There are 8 schools in MERS.  All kindergartners will attend the Early Learning Center, which is attached to Clark Mills School. Four schools, Clark Mills, John I Dawes, Milford Brook and Taylor Mills are for grades 1-3. Three schools, Lafayette Mills, Pine Brook and Wemrock Brook serve children in grades 4-6. Middle school children, grades 7-8 attend Manalapan Englishtown Middle School.

High school children  will attend the Freehold Regional High School District. There are six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District. the schools are  Manalapan, Freehold Township, Colts Neck, Freehold,  Howell and Marlboro. Children  attend the high school according to boundaries set by the district -  most children in Manalapan will attend Manalapan High School.

There are specialized Learning Centers in each of the six high schools for students who are talented and highly motivated.  Any student from the region is eligible to enroll through a competitive admission process. The curriculums at the Specialized Learning Centers are:

       Manalapan - science and engineering, automotive technology and law enforcement and public safety academies
       Marlboro - business administration
       Howell  - humanities, fine and performing arts academy
       Freehold Township - global issues, animal and botanical sciences academy
       Freehold - medical sciences, culinary arts/hospitality management academy and a computer science academy     
      Colts Neck - law and public service, a Navy JROTC character and leadership development academy
SAT scores at all of the high schools consistently exceed state and national averages. More than 87 percent of the district's students pursue higher education.
